Meet Amanda Kapadia
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
Amanda graduated with honors from Fordham University Gradate School of Social Service in New York City. Following graduation, she completed a post-masters certificate for psychoanalysis at New York University. Her breadth of experience comes from providing therapy in a variety of community settings ranging from schools to inpatient psychiatric care. Areas of special interest are self-injury, suicidal ideations, mood disorders and insomnia.
Amanda proficiently uses a variety of treatment modalities including CBT, CBT-I, Solution Focused Therapy, Mindfulness and DBT to help relieve clients of initial distress and stabilize mood. Then using a psychodynamic approach to help clients understand the root their of feelings and behaviors. Her approach is collaborative, nurturing, non-judgmental with a touch of humor when appropriate.
In her spare time, Amanda can be found chasing her three boys, husband and dog. She likes to climb mountains, cook and drink good coffee.
